Travel Insurance To Mexico

Mexico has much to offer travelers, from its picturesque beaches with turquoise blue waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling, to archaeological sites where you can marvel at the ancient civilizations that once inhabited the land. With a diverse culture and arts scene, opportunities aplenty for adventure, and incredible food, there is something for everyone in Mexico. It is no wonder it is one of the world's favorite tourist destinations.

Before you plan your Mexico adventure, there are some things to keep in mind to help ensure your health and safety:

  • Stay up-to-date on any travel advisories affecting the area you are visiting.

  • Research what areas are safe for tourists and what areas to you may want to avoid due to high crime rates.

  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends making sure you are fully vaccinated before traveling to Mexico. Unvaccinated travelers should avoid nonessential travel to Mexico.

We recommend also looking into adding a travel insurance plan to your trip. Below are some frequently asked questions about travel insurance for Mexico:

How can travel insurance help?

Travel insurance helps cover you in case your trip has to be canceled due to unforeseen events, such as your own illness or injury, the death of a family member, or a natural disaster at your destination – that last one can be especially beneficial for areas like Mexico where the location between two oceans increases the possibility of extreme weather events.

Why should I choose a Trawick International travel insurance plan?

Trawick International offers a variety of travel insurance plans, including Trip Cancellation, Primary Emergency Travel Medical, Adventure Travel Insurance, and more.  Our travel insurance plans do not exclude claims for COVID-19 medical expenses, and we treat COVID-19 the same as any other sickness.

Do you offer Cancel For Any Reason Travel Insurance Insurance?

The Safe Travels Voyager plan offers optional Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) coverage. The CFAR option provides reimbursement for up to 75% of the prepaid, non-refundable, forfeited payments you paid for your trip if you cancel your trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this policy, up to two days before your trip is to begin. CFAR must be purchased with the initial policy and within 21 days of the initial trip deposit date, and the full, non-refundable trip cost must be insured.

A couple of items to note: CFAR is not available in all states, and not all of our Safe Travels insurance policies include primary medical coverage and trip delay coverage. Please be sure to read up on what your selected policy covers, or contact us to learn more.

Is the mandatory COVID-19 test to reenter the USA covered?

Effective January 26, 2021, all travelers flying into the United States will need to show a negative COVID-19 test before entering the country. Airlines will be responsible for confirming all passengers' negative test results before they board a flight to the United States. The cost of this mandatory test is not a covered benefit under any of our travel insurance plans. The plans do not have benefits for additional accommodations for travel to get the test. If someone doesn't receive the test results in time, this will not be covered by the travel delay/trip interruption benefit. If someone has a positive test, there could be coverage for travel delays for additional accommodations due to quarantine.
