Travel Requirements for Thailand

COVID-19 Travel Requirements for Thailand

Make Sure That You Are Aware of The COVID-19 Travel Requirements for Thailand

Did you know that Thailand is one of the most popular places to visit in the world?  Like many other countries, the COVID-19 pandemic hurt Thailand’s tourism industry quite hard as it shut down international travel.  The good news is Thailand has begun to reopen its borders to travelers from all over the world on a limited basis.

As reported by Travel Pulse, to enter Thailand, all travelers arriving in Thailand must present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR swab test taken within 72 hours prior to flight.  All travelers will be given a second COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival.  If a traveler tests positive, they will be transferred to a state hospital for quarantine. If the test is negative, the traveler will be transferred to a state quarantine facility.  All approved travelers must quarantine for 14 days when they arrive in Thailand at an Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) approved hotel or hospital.

As noted in the Travel Pulse article, travelers must have travel insurance that has the following requirements. Applicants will need to show evidence of medical and travel insurance that covers COVID-19. The insurance needs to cover at least US$100,000 in medical treatment, a minimum of 400,000 Thai baht (USD $13,050) for other medical and accident expenses. This insurance must be valid for the full length of stay in Thailand.

We at Trawick International have a travel insurance product that will meet the requirements of the required travel insurance by Thailand.  Our Safe Travels Voyager plan provides up to $100,000 for trip cancellation and includes a $250,000 per person limit for primary medical coverage.  Additionally, the plan offers Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) coverage, which will provide reimbursement for the percentage of the prepaid, non-refundable, forfeited payments you paid for your trip.  Trawick International insurance plans do not exclude losses due to COVID-19.  If a traveler, traveling companion, or a non-traveling family member becomes ill, our plans will reimburse customers for their non-refundable trip costs.

Now that you know the facts, it's time to book your vacation to Thailand.  Just remember to contact Trawick International and purchase our Safe Travels Voyager plan to meet the required travel insurance by the government of Thailand.

Ski Utah This Year

Ski Utah During Covid

Don’t Let COVID-19 Keep You From Taking The Slopes In Utah This Ski Season

It’s that time of year again when the air gets colder and the snow starts to fall.  For some, it’s their favorite season, Ski season.  All across the country and the world, skiers and snowboarders are getting their gear ready to take on the slopes of their favorite mountain.

As indicated by a Travel+Leisure article, after the most extended ski resort closure in Utah’s history, all of the state’s ski areas are now open for everyone to enjoy the "best snow on earth." On March 16 — when Utah resorts closed due to the coronavirus pandemic — ski areas began to carefully establish plans to make the 2020-2021 ski season as safe and socially distant as possible. All ski areas have established cleaning and disinfection strategies, physical distancing guidelines, and strict mask requirements.  Utah has always been a favorite ski destination — most resorts are within an hour of the airport, the terrain is accommodating to every skier, and each season there’s an average of 40 feet of light and powdery snow.

Here are some of the best resorts to stay when visiting Utah for ski season as noted by Planetware:

Snowbird - is one of the most scenic ski resorts in Utah, with sharp mountain peaks that genuinely make you feel like you are in the mountains. Unique among Utah resorts, Snowbird has a 125-passenger tram, which provides access to almost all the mountain areas via one lift. It also has a tunnel through the mountain, which skiers can move through on a conveyor belt that serves as a "ski-through" mining museum.

Deer Valley - offers a skiing experience like no other in Utah, with first-class facilities, a right mix of terrain for all levels of skiers, strong snowmaking capabilities, and staff that go out of their way to make sure your skiing experience is fun. This skiers-only resort is just two miles up the road from downtown Park City and about 45 minutes from Salt Lake City. Although it is mainly known as a family resort, the mountain has a surprisingly varied terrain, which will keep even the most advanced skiers occupied. More than 100 runs are spread out over 2,000 acres and six mountains.

Park City Mountain Resort -  is a top choice for skiers and boarders coming to Utah due to its extensive terrain, recently expanded snowmaking capabilities, fantastic terrain parks, excellent après ski infrastructure and atmosphere, and the town of Park City at the base of the slopes.

Park City Mountain Resort is one of the largest ski resorts in Utah, second now to Powder Mountain. It has 7,300 acres of skiable terrain, and any skier level can find what they are looking for at this resort. On average, the resort receives nearly 30 feet of snow each season.

Powder Mountain – is just an hour north of Salt Lake City, with a full range of skiing options, including cat skiing and backcountry terrain. With two new lifts in 2017, Powder Mountain became the largest ski resort in North America in terms of skiable terrain, with 8,464 acres. This includes about 3,800 acres accessible by nine lifts, and the rest reached by heading into the backcountry on a Snowcat Powder Safari.

Now that you know where to stay and got your ski gear, ready to conquer some of the world's best mountains. Caribbean Holiday

Caribbean Holiday Travel

Take A Trip To The Caribbean This Holiday Season

The holiday season is approaching quickly, as noted in a recent USA Today article, many travelers are booking flights and hotel accommodations.  So, what is causing this rise?  Many in the travel industry believe that there is pent-up demand from customers who want to visit their family and friends or go on vacation.

The next question is, where can travelers go?  A recent report from travel insurance comparison site Squaremouth highlighted the most popular destinations for holiday travel this year.  Due to COVID-19, this year’s list is different from years past.  In past surveys, the top destinations were usually European countries which have since closed their borders and implemented travel restrictions that lead to a significant shift in traveler behavior.  Caribbean countries now comprise half of the top ten destinations of American travelers.  The Caribbean countries on the list are Turks and Caicos, Bahamas, US Virgin Islands, Jamaica, and Aruba.

As of November 3, 2020, 25, Caribbean countries have reopened their borders to travelers and have implemented COVID-19 travel protocols to protect travelers while visiting.  No matter if you’re an adventure traveler and want to explore the rain forest or a leisure traveler who wants to relax on the beach, the Caribbean offers something for everyone. Suppose you are still undecided about where and what activity you would like to try in the Caribbean.  Check out the ultimate Caribbean Bucket List to help you make your decision.

One thing every potential traveler should do before considering travel to the Caribbean and making travel arrangements is to review the COVID CTRL website.  This website provides an overview of how every country in the world is dealing with COVID-19.  You will obtain information on whether or not the government is open to receiving visitors, how the country is doing with containing the virus, what mandatory COVID-19 policies it has implemented, what tourist attractions are open, and the restrictions on shopping and dining options.

We get it; this year has been challenging for everyone.  So, if you can, take a trip to the Caribbean and enjoy yourself.  Before you book your trip, speak with us to obtain a travel insurance plan that covers COVID-19 and other concerns you may have.  Check out our COVID-19 FAQ Page for more information about which Trawick International plans offer coverage for COVID-19.

Travel To New York This Holiday Season

NYC Holiday Travel

Don’t Let COVID-19 Prevent You From Experiencing New York This Holiday Season

During the beginning of the pandemic, no place was affected more than New York.  As the nationwide shutdown went into effect, we all watched as New York struggled to contain the COVID-19 virus. To battle the virus, New York implemented a travel advisory that limited travel to New York unless you were an essential worker and required anyone who traveled to New York to quarantine for 14 days.

On October 31, 2020, Governor Cuomo implemented new travel guidelines for visitors to New York. The new policy requires travelers must have tested negative for the virus within three days of their arrival to New York and have proof of the test. Then, once they've arrived, travelers must quarantine for three days. On the fourth day, travelers must get tested for the virus again. If the test on the fourth day is negative, travelers are free to enjoy their stay in New York. If it's positive, travelers must quarantine for 14 days.

The Governor's new travel policy is a massive development for the New York holiday season.  Yes, this holiday season will be different. The Rockettes will not be performing this year and Broadway has gone dark.  But no place is more magical during the holidays than New York. Everywhere you turn, you’ll find twinkling lights and elaborate decorations. New York has all the outdoor winter activities you crave, including ice-skating under the stars.

To ensure that you can visit New York this holiday season, we at Trawick International want everyone to have the best possible holiday experience. That is why we highly recommend travelers purchase trip interruption, trip delay, and travel medical insurance policies. Trip Interruption provides reimbursement for unused, non-refundable insured trip costs if the trip is interrupted due to your becoming sick with COVID-19. Trip interruption insurance will cover the cost of your lodging if you contract COVID-19 and have to quarantine for an additional 14 days in New York.  Travel Medical coverage will cover your medical expenses on your trip if you become infected with COVID-19 and need treatment after traveling to New York.

Please note that not all travel insurance policies cover COVID-19.  Please make sure the policy you purchase does.  Check out our COVID-19 FAQ Page for more information about how Trawick International travel insurance covers COVID-19.
