A. For Trawick International’s Safe Travels medical insurance policies “Pre-existing Condition” means a condition, regardless of the cause of the condition, for which medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment was recommended or received before the Covered Person’s coverage became effective under the Policy. The term does not include genetic information in the absence of a diagnosis of the condition related to such information.

Q7 Does Medicare cover foreign travel?
A. No, Medicare does not provide coverage while outside of the U.S. You should purchase one of Trawick’s international travel insurance for possible medical emergencies while traveling outside of your home country.
Back
Q8 Do I need travel insurance if I have a Medicare supplement?
A. Medigap Plans C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and J pay 80% of the billed charges for certain medically-necessary emergency care outside the U.S. after you meet a $250 deductible for the year. The deductible for Plans F and J is $2,000. These Medigap policies cover foreign travel emergency care if it begins during the first 60 days of your trip, and if Medicare doesn’t otherwise cover the care. Foreign travel emergency coverage with Medigap policies has a lifetime limit of $50,000. Check your Medigap plan to determine if you are covered. Medigap plans do not cover medical evacuation or repatriation.

A. Yes, Trawick International’s travel insurance plans for international travel include a Trip Interruption Benefit. The Trip Interruption Benefit reimburses the cost of one way economy air and/or ground transportation ticket if your Trip is interrupted as the result of: 1. Q12 Is it possible to increase my accidental death and dismemberment sum?
A. Yes, if you are traveling to the USA we can increase your accidental death and dismemberment sum up to $500,000.
If you are not coming to the USA we can increase your policy coverage to $1,000,000.

Q13 My child is under the age of 1. How do I enter his or her age on the Quote form?
A. If you apply online the website automatically calculates their age and rates by using their date of birth. If you apply on paper use 0 or <1.
Back
Q14 I already have medical coverage? Will it cover me while I am traveling?
A. Some policies cover you and some don't. Some that do may require you to pay for a doctor or hospital visit and then submit a claim to get reimbursed. Check your policy wording. Most U.S. medical insurance is not accepted outside the United States and does not provide emergency evacuation or repatriation benefits. Obtaining medical treatment and hospital care abroad can be expensive, and medical evacuation to the U.S. can easily cost more than $50,000. If your insurance policy does not cover you abroad, it is a good idea to consider purchasing an Individual Policy which does.
Back
Q15 How can I get a refund?
A. Refund of total plan cost minus the processing fee is considered, if a written request is received by Trawick International prior to the effective date of coverage. If written request is received after the effective date of coverage, the unused portion of the plan cost may be refunded minus a cancellation fee of $10, provided no claim has been submitted.
